2024 CBICC Recap

The 2024 Chicago Booth Investment Conference and Competition (CBICC) on November 7th brought together 120+ students from top business schools around the country to connect with peer MBAs as well as prominent asset management professionals. The day began with a stock pitch competition, followed by our keynote fireside chat with Natalie Brown, a Chicago Booth alumna and CEO of Mesirow, a major investment firm based in Chicago. CBICC also included panels on equity and fixed income markets as well as career advice with industry professionals from LSV Asset Management, Fidelity Investments, Vanguard, and T. Rowe Price.

Conference Overview

Every year, the competition component of CBICC includes two tracks: stocks and credit. For the stock pitch track, each team will pitch one stock idea (long or short) out of a predetermined list of stocks. For the credit pitch track, each team pitches one corporate credit security. Finalist teams from both tracks, selected by our expert judges, will participate in a second round of presentations to determine the overall winner for each competition.

The conference also includes panel sessions and fireside chats, during which keynote speakers discuss the current market environment and share their own investment perspectives. In addition to formal programming, the conference will provide networking opportunities through coffee chats among sponsor firms, competition participants, and Booth students.
